Life lessons from 30 years of mothering with the “Money Mentalist”

We celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday 10th of May in New Zealand. I thought – hey, why are we celebrating mothers in one measly day? Why not celebrate it for a whole month? After all, being a mother is the hardest job we have and it’s time to prioritize our self-care and mental health. It has been extremely draining, depleting and exhausting for many mothers in the past months.

Given the COVID-19 global pandemic and subsequent restrictions we have been asked to be everything and do everything for everyone. Empowermum’s Mother’s Month is all about putting the focus back on you – because you matter. As part of Empowermum’s Mother’s Month, I am interviewing inspiring and interviewing women all about motherhood – the good, the bad and the ugly.

In this episode I talk to Lynda Moore or otherwise known as the “Money Mentalist”. Lynda is an accountant, money mindset coach and business owner of ‘Money Mentalist’. She is a mother of a 30 year old daughter and she talks about her journey as a single mum while starting her own business, and trying to pay off her $600,000 debt.

Both Lynda and I are passionate in being open and honest about taboo subjects – Lynda loves to talk about money and I love to talk about motherhood. Lynda shares her journey, tips and advice for all mums and mums-to-be including financial self-care.

I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed talking to Lynda. If you like this please like on Facebook @EmpowermumsNZ for more episodes, daily tips and strategies. For a lot of good advice and strategies on money and your money mindset follow Lynda on Facebook @MoneyMentalist.
